Project Description
Veterinary risk assessment aims to pinpoint dangers and gauge risks for particular pathways and their varying intensities. For instance, African swine fever is regarded as a risk for the Danish pig industry, with significant economic consequences due to lost exports and fatal diseases in pigs. The risk from this hazard related to various pathways, such as the import of animals, the import of products, travel, international hunting, and trucks, can be estimated with the help of risk assessments, both qualitative and quantitative. Estimating risks related to each pathway and overall can help risk managers implement mitigating actions, prioritize, and balance the level of preparedness to the current level of risk.
