This Ph.D. position in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada is part of a larger Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Strategic Project Grant (SPG) entitled “Great Lakes Recreational Water Security: Microbial community characterization, source tracking and remediation through meta?genomics”. The study is led by the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER) and involves collaboration with multiple government agencies and industrial partners (including Environment Canada, Parks Canada, Essex Region Conservation Authority, Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Trojan Technologies).
The applicant will receive $ 21 K/ Year for 3 Years (from project funds).
Eligibility:
- A Master of Applied Science/ Engineering (thesis based) degree in Environmental/ Civil Engineering or related field. Candidates with a research background in watershed/ hydrodynamic modeling will be preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in technical English (both oral and written) are essential. The selection process will be made on the basis of academic merit, language skills, and publication record. The applicants must be strongly motivated for graduate studies and be able to work independently towards the objectives of the project.
Duration of award(s): The duration of this position is three years.
