Description:
The Eugen Singer Award was established by Mrs. Josephine Singer in commemoration of her late husband, Eugen Singer, who distinguished himself as a chemical engineer working in the field of precision engineering associated with the production and processing of polymers. The scholarship is open to students who are undertaking postgraduate research in the study of polymers and who are in financial need.
Eligibility for the Eugen Singer Award:
- Applicants must be undertaking a higher degree by research in a field related to the study of polymers, including their production and processing at the University of Melbourne.
- An online application must be submitted, consisting of a personal statement describing the research topic, the student's financial situation, and how the funds would be used to benefit the research
Selection criteria:
- Academic merit: This will be assessed via the personal statement and supporting documents (CV, most recent progress report, peer-reviewed publications, supervisor’s statement) to evaluate the strength of the applicant’s research.
- Financial need: This will be assessed via the personal statement and submission of the FEIT Student Financial Assessment form.
