Overview

This grant provides U.S. students studying a master’s or Ph.D. degree the opportunity to pursue a 9 months research or art project in Mexico. Candidates with terminal master’s degrees are also welcome to apply. Candidates with only a bachelor’s degree will not be considered for this award, and are encouraged to apply to one of our other U.S. Student programs: Binational Business, English Teaching Assistant, or Graduate Degree Program.

Eligibility Criteria for the Fulbright COMEXUS Grant 2025:

  • Applicants must be US nationals.
  • Applicants must be fluent in Spanish.
  • Applicants must either hold an MS/MA or be enrolled in a master’s program.
  • Applicants studying, living or working in Mexico during the application process are not eligible.
  • Applicants holding a temporary or permanent resident card to Mexico are not eligible.

Collateral includes either: Immovable property – a house or a flat or land (or) liquid security – an FD, or LIC or shares or bonds. Agricultural lands are not accepted by any bank for education loan.
