Overview:

The School of Business is offering fully-funded Graduate Teaching Assistant PhD Studentships starting 25 September 2023. The Graduate Teaching Assistantships are available for full-time campus-based registration to our PhD Economics or PhD Management.

About Graduate Teaching Assistantships:

GTAs allow research students to fund their PhD through part-time teaching work with the University. Successful candidates will be required to do some teaching as part of their PhD training, facilitating students’ active learning in tutorials and seminars, geared towards knowledge development and application of principles set out in lectures and course materials.

Eligibility for the Graduate Teaching Assistantships:

  • Applicants are required to hold a UK Bachelor Degree with at least a 2:1 and a Master's Degree or overseas equivalent.
  • Candidates should browse information concerning staff research interests and identify potential supervisors and include the name/s on their online application.
  • Applicants should prepare their research proposal using our proposal form. Proposals not on the proposal form may not be considered.
  • Applicants already holding an offer for a Management PhD or Economics PhD and our current first-year PhD students may be considered for the funding by emailing their full name and Leicester ID number and a GTA personal statement to pgradmissions@le.ac.uk before the funding closing date. They do not need to submit a new PhD application.

Benefits:

  • 4 years of tuition fees at the UK fee or overseas fee rates.
  • Annual combined stipend and salary package totaling £17,668 per year for 4 years. (2022/3 shown. Rates for 2023/4 are to be confirmed).
