Gordon Studentship in American Studies at University of Glasgow 2026

The Centre for American Studies provides a variety of limited, fee-only postgraduate scholarships for American Studies students at the university. These scholarships are open to students from the UK, EU countries, and applicants from beyond the EU who are interested in pursuing any area of American Studies at the Masters level, which covers a wide range of American Studies topics including American culture, history, and literature.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants from selected nations are eligible.
• Applicants must have received either a conditional or an unconditional offer for the Taught MLitt or the Ph.D. in American Studies.
• Applicants must be enrolled in the American Studies program at the university. [PhD/MLitt (Research)/MPhil (Research)/MRes]

Application Process:

• Eligible candidates must apply online for the scholarship.
• Candidates should include a writing sample of around 2,000 words.
• Candidates must have applied to the University of Glasgow by the Gordon studentship deadline.

Value of the Studentship: 

Selected candidates are awarded a sum ranging between GBP 500 and GBP 1,000.
