University of Alberta Graduate Recruitment Scholarship 2025

The University of Alberta is offering scholarships to graduate-level students with the potential to contribute to the University.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Alberta Graduate Recruitment Scholarship:

• Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or students on a study permit.
• Candidates should be admitted to a doctoral or thesis-based master’s graduate degree program by the department or transferred from a master's to a doctoral degree program.
• Students must be registered full-time in a doctoral degree or thesis-based master’s degree program and have an admission GPA of at least 3.5.

Application :

There is no application form; students cannot apply for these awards. Eligible students are considered on the recommendation of the Faculty.

Value of the Scholarship:

Scholarships will be offered in increments of $5,000. The department may decide how many increments of $5,000 to offer a student.

Deadline: GRS and GSA nominations can be submitted on an ongoing basis, but should be submitted by the applicable deadline.

-For students with a May 1, 2026, start date, the deadline is March 26, 2026

-For students with a July 1, 2026, start date, the deadline is May 28, 2026

-For students with a September 1, 2026 start date, the deadline is July 9, 2026

-For students with a January 1, 2027 start date, the deadline is November 12, 2026
