Eligibility for the Rupert and Babette Evans MA Bursary:
Applicants must have a first-class degree in History or a related discipline, and must be applying to study either full-time or part-time on one of the School’s Master’s programmes from October 2023:
- MA History
- MRes History (Masters by Research)
Selection criteria:
- The quality of the student, including the candidate’s past academic performance, likely future performance, and relevant skills and experience.
- The suitability of the chosen programme or pathway in light of the candidate’s existing knowledge and skills.
- The coherence and viability of the dissertation proposal, including whether the department can offer appropriate supervision.
- The case for how MA study will support progression to doctoral research.
Value of the scholarship:
A £4,000 maintenance bursary is available due to the generosity of the Evans Bequest, established in honor of two distinguished Leicester historians, Rupert and Babette Evans.
