Professor Barbara Raw Masters Scholarships for English 2024

Barbara Raw Masters Scholarships for English is named in honor of a former Royal Holloway student and rewards high-achieving students of English. Two scholarships are available for full or part-time postgraduate students with Home or International fee status studying a taught Master's in the Department of English.

Eligibility for the Barbara Raw Masters Scholarships for English:

• Applicants must have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, high grades in A-level or equivalent.
• Candidates should hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study one of our following degrees under the Department of English.
• Students must provide a supporting statement of no longer than 400 words, which should include: academic achievements, why they have chosen to do the degree they have applied for and future aspirations, and how the scholarship will help them to achieve their future goals.

• MA Creative Writing 
• MA English Literature 
• MA Victorian Literature, Art and Culture
• MA Medieval Studies

Value of the Scholarship:

Successful applicants of the Barbara Raw Masters Scholarships for English will receive an award of value £10,000 (payable over three years).
