Overview
Fulbright New Zealand is offering General Graduate Awards for New Zealand citizens to study at universities in the US. These awards are available for study or research in any field not covered by one of our other, field-specific Fulbright New Zealand graduate awards.
Eligibility Criteria for Fulbright New Zealand General Graduate Awards :
- Applicants must be passport holders of New Zealand.
- Applicants must not be currently living in the US.
- Applicants must have achieved 480 points, which must include a completed undergraduate degree.
- Applicants must not yet hold a doctoral degree.
- Applicants must be planning to undertake full-time postgraduate study or research at a US institution for at least six months.
- Applicants who have not previously received a Fulbright graduate award are preferred.
Application Process:
- Interested candidates must complete and submit an online application.
- The candidates must upload written statements and supporting documents.
- Candidates must provide the names and email addresses of three referees.
- Candidates are also required to arrange for verified official transcripts to be sent to Fulbright NZ either in hard copy or via the e-Qual system.
Value of the Award:
- Selected candidates are awarded the following benefits:
- USD 50,000 towards the first year of study or research.
- USD 40,000 towards the second year of study for students undertaking multi-year Master's or PhD degrees.
- NZD 4,000 will be reimbursed towards a return airfare from NZ to the US.
- Access to the Institute of International Education (IIE)’s University Placement Services.
- A basic health insurance policy that pays up to USD 100,000 for each illness or injury.
