By offering financial aid to the top students pursuing a master's degree in high-performance computing (HPC) or HPC combined with data science, the John Fisher HPC Masters Scholarship seeks to promote the growth of the HPC workforce.

Eligibility for University of Edinburgh John Fisher High-Performance Scholarships:

  • Candidates for the full-time on-campus Masters (MSc) programs in High-Performance Computing and High-Performance Computing with Data Science are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
  • The scholarships will be given to first-time students who have applied to the university for admission to a postgraduate taught master's degree program that will start in September 2025. 
  • Candidates must have, or anticipate obtaining, the undergraduate degree equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 honors.

Selection Criteria:

  • Scholarships for the MSc in HPC or MSc in HPC with Data Science will be given to students who are approved based on their academic merit.
  • Candidates should describe why they want to study HPC, how the MSc will help them achieve their professional objectives, and how the scholarship will make it easier for them to do so.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum of up to GBP 15,200.
