Mobility Awards

The Mobility Awards provide financial support to current University of Melbourne students undertaking eligible overseas study as part of their undergraduate, honours, or graduate coursework degree.

Eligibility criteria for the Mobility Awards:

• The applicant must be currently enrolled at the University in either an undergraduate degree, an Honours degree, or a graduate coursework degree.
• The applicant must intend to undertake overseas study for at least 3 weeks (15 business days).
• The applicant must not have previously received a Mobility Award for overseas study at the same course level.
• The applicant must have course results available at the time of application.
• The overseas study must be credited towards the applicant's degree.
• The overseas study must be part of an eligible University of Melbourne semester or year-long program, short-term program, or University of Melbourne Overseas Subject (UMOS).
• The applicant must not have received a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant for the same overseas experience.
• The applicant must not have received a New Colombo Plan Scholarship.
• Merit-based awards are assessed using the applicant's Weighted Average Mark (WAM).
• Eligible Chancellor's Scholars, Kwong Lee Dow Scholars, and Commerce Achievement Scholarship recipients will receive a Melbourne Global Scholars Award during their undergraduate degree.

Application process for the Mobility Awards:

• Applicants must submit an online Mobility Awards application form before they complete their overseas study.
• Applicants must apply as soon as they receive their exchange destination allocation so that their application can be assessed in time for them to plan their finances.
• If applying based on financial disadvantage, personal difficulties, or disability/medical circumstances, applicants must provide the required supporting documentation.
• Applicants will automatically be considered for all Mobility Awards for which they are eligible.
• Separate applications for individual awards are not required.
• Only complete applications will be considered.

Award:

• AUD 1,000 for students undertaking overseas study for at least 3 weeks (15 business days) and up to 12 weeks, or AUD 2,500 for students undertaking overseas study for 12 weeks or more.
