Eligibility

• Applicants currently based at German institutions are eligible to apply.
• Applicants who wish to improve their research capacity in the humanities are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates who work in an interdisciplinary field are especially encouraged to apply. 
• Candidates applying for Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities at Universities and Research Institutes in the U.S. and Canada must have finished their Ph.D. after October 1st, 2011.
• As this call addresses postdoctoral applicants, the Ph.D. must be completed by the time of application.

Documents Required

• Applicants of Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities at Universities and Research Institutes in the U.S. and Canada must a signature sheet uploaded via the electronic application system of the Volkswagen Foundation.
• A cover letter in about one page must be submitted.
• Summary of the research project must be submitted.
• Must submit Research proposal and include the necessary components of the research.
• Applicants must submit their budget in Euro.
• A brief explanation of the budget in maximum of one
• page should be provided.
• Applicants must submit their curriculum vitae including a list of publications in four pages.
• Copies of university certificates, (PhD) need to be submitted.
• Must submit one short publication of interest.
• Applicants must submit a letter of confirmation from the German university/institution.
