A. W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships In Humanities And Humanistic Social Sciences, 2018-20

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is inviting applications for postdoctoral fellowships in humanities and humanistic social sciences.

Eligibility

• The applicants for A. W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in Humanities and Humanistic Social Sciences, 2018-20 should have a Ph.D. in the fields of humanities and humanistic social sciences.
• The candidates should be scholars who aren't tenured and should have received their Ph.D. within 5 years i.e between August 2013 and August 2018.
• The applicants who do not have Ph.D. should submit final thesis prior to the begin date of the fellowship and a letter from their home institution confirming their degree schedule.
• Those who are doctoral candidates or holding their doctoral degrees from UW-Madison are not eligible.
• The fellowships will not be given to those teaching in the departments of Geography,English, or History.
• The applicants should not hold any other fellowship.

Documents required

• The applicants for A. W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in Humanities and Humanistic Social Sciences, 2018-20 should submit a curriculum vitae including work in progress and an abstract for a dissertation in 100 words.
• The candidates should submit a writing sample up to 25 pages and proposal up to 2000 words, including completed research, work in progress.
• The applicants should also submit three reference letters.

Value of the scholarship

• The recipients of A. W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in Humanities and Humanistic Social Sciences, 2018-20 will get a minimum stipend of $62,090 per academic year, with a $5,000 per year research allowance. 
• The fellows will be given office space and computer equipment.
