USIEF Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowships (2018-19)

The United States-Israel Educational Foundation (USIEF) is offering postdoctoral fellowships to citizens of the US.

Eligibility

• The applicants should have obtained their Ph.D. after April 2015.
• The applicants for USIEF Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowships (2018-19) should be US citizens. Permanent residents are not eligible.
• The candidates should begin the postdoctoral research at an institution of higher education in Israel in the academic year of (2018-19).
• The applicants who have already begun their postdoctoral period are not eligible.
• The candidates should plan on conducting postdoctoral research for a minimum of two years.
• The tenure-track position holders are ineligible for USIEF Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowships, (2018-19).

Documents required

• The candidates are expected to submit a letter indication interest to host the applicant from an Israeli researcher to the Council for International Exchange of Scholars.
• The host institution of the applicant should provide a formal hosting commitment to the USIEF.
• The candidates should submit a proof of meeting all the requirements for the doctoral degree.

Selection Criteria

• The applicants for USIEF Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowships (2018-19) are evaluated based on academic merit, leadership skills.
• The candidates are also assessed based on their ability to increase understanding between US and Israel.
• The preference will be given to the applicants who do not receive previous Fulbright grants, who do not have professional experience in Israel.

Value of the scholarship

• The recipients will get $40,000 as stipend i.e. $20,000 per year, limited health insurance.
• The recipients should attend meetings and other grantee events in the US and Israel.
