John Ross Clancy Indigenous Student Bursary at University of Southern Queensland

The John Ross Clancy Indigenous Student Bursary, established in memory of John Ross Clancy’s advocacy for Australian Indigenous affairs and his generous bequest to UniSQ, will support one Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student commencing their first year of a bachelor’s degree at University of Southern Queensland in 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The applicant should be a domestic student currently residing in Australia and be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
2. The applicant should be a commencing student intending to enrol in a bachelor’s degree program at UniSQ in Trimester 1 2026.
3. The applicant should have an income at or below the financial threshold limits.

Selection Criteria: 

1. Answer each personal statement question (max 250 words each): experiences or influences driving your passion, and your career goals/impact.
2. Provide evidence of being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia.
3. Provide academic achievement (final year school report card or post-secondary transcript).
4. Provide proof of current financial circumstances.

Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.

Award: a maximum value of AUD 2,000 to be paid in one instalment.

Deadline: Monday 19 January 2026 at 11:59pm (AEST)

Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
