- Applicants of Asian Environmental Journalism Awards (AEJA), 2017 must be citizens or permanent residents of one of the countries in Asia.
- Applicants must be either professional and citizen journalists, reporters or photojournalists.
- Candidates must be working in media organizations that are based in Asia.
