The Magdeburg -Stendal University of Applied Sciences (Magdeburg -Stendal University of Applied Sciences ) is a Fachhochschule in Saxony-Anhalt with locations in Magdeburg and Stendal. The administrative seat of the University is located in Magdeburg. The establishment of the university was decided on July 2, 1991, by the Saxony-Anhalt Cabinet. During the winter semester, the first students were enrolled in the Department of Social Affairs. In 1992, the training company at Stendal was started. In 1999 the Fachhochschule in Magdeburg moved to its campus between Elbauenpark and the Herrenkrug. On July 19, 2000, the Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences and the Fachhochschule Altmark were merged and the so-called joint institution Magdeburg-Stendal was named. One year later the Campus was opened in Stendal on the Osterberger Straße. In 2010 a new cafeteria will be opened there.
