Eligibility Criteria for German National Academic Foundation Leo Baeck Fellowship Programme 2026:
Applicants must
- Be doctoral students planning to carry out or currently conducting research in German‑Jewish Studies or a related field.
- Hold a valid doctoral admission or equivalent enrollment at a recognised university.
- Propose a research project that aligns with the thematic focus of the fellowship.
- Meet the general eligibility and application requirements set by DAAD for research fellowship programmes.
- Be able to undertake a research stay in Germany if the fellowship requires it.
Value of German National Academic Foundation Leo Baeck Fellowship Programme 2026:
- Grant amount of 1,650 EUR each month
- Monthly research cost allowance of 100 EUR
- If applicable, health insurance allowance of max. 100 EUR, child allowance if applicable
- Travel expenses for research meetings and conferences abroad
- Monthly contributions or subsidies for tuition fees for a PhD abroad are possible, max. 10,000 EUR
