Eligibility for the UQ PhD Industry Placement Scholarship:
Applicants must:
- be enrolled as a current PhD candidate at The University of Queensland (UQ);
- be receiving a UQ-funded living stipend at the time of application and at the time the extension is awarded;
- have successfully completed a Graduate School–coordinated PhD Industry Placement of at least 60 working days;
- have worked with the Graduate School to plan the placement and have submitted and received approval for the project brief via myUQ within:
- 18 months of program commencement (for full-time students), or
- 36 months of commencement (for part-time students)
- complete the HDR placement at least one month before the current stipend expires, including submitting completion reports and receiving the official “Placement Completion” email.

$9,100 (2025 rate, indexed annually)

- Ensure the placement is approved, registered, and completed according to UQ Graduate School requirements.
