The United Nations Industrial Development Organization is conducting a Global Start-up Business Plan Competition, to potential and existing entrepreneurs to start a new business idea. The entrepreneurs should be aged between 18 and 35.
The aim of UNIDO's 50th Anniversary Global Start-up Business Plan Competition, 2016 is to bring forth the ideas that contribute towards developing their communities and personal economic benefit.
Eligibility
- The applicants for UNIDO's 50th Anniversary Global Start-up Business Plan Competition, 2016 should be aged between 18 and 35.
- The candidates should use the business plan template.
- The competition is open to entrepreneurs with new ideas or entrepreneurs with start-ups.
- The competition is open to a team of maximum 3 members.
- The applicants are expected to submit their applications in English.
- The candidates who are employees of the organizers are not eligible.
Selection criteria
- The applicants for UNIDO's 50th Anniversary Global Start-up Business Plan Competition, 2016 will be assessed based on the uniqueness, relevance, and viability of the business idea.
- The candidates are evaluated based on the description, market need of the products and the definition of the target market.
- The applicants will be assessed based on the start-up costs and the nature of the marketing plan.
What does it offer?
- The winners will get $15,000 as the first prize, $10,000 as the second and $5,000 as the third prize.
- The winners will also be given a UNIDO certificate and a roundtrip from home country to the UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
