Sir Roy McKenzie Music Therapy Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
The New Zealand Society for Music Therapy (Music Therapy New Zealand) honours the late Sir Roy McKenzie by offering scholarships to support students pursuing a Master of Music Therapy or PhD in Music Therapy at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
Eligibility Criteria of Sir Roy McKenzie Music Therapy Scholarship:
- Applicants must have completed at least the first year of the Master of Music Therapy and plan to enrol in the second year, or be transitioning from the Master’s to PhD in Music Therapy or a related field, or have a close professional association with the Master of Music Therapy course.
- Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
Selection Criteria: Applicants will be assessed on their commitment to pursue further qualifications in Music Therapy at the New Zealand School of Music.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: Up to NZD 5,000.
Note:
- The scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments in April and August, and recipients must submit an end-of-year progress report to be shared with the donor.
- Recipients are required to write a letter of thanks to the donor.
- Recipients are expected to engage with and contribute to the community and environment of the New Zealand School of Music, including participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances at NZSM or university events.
