These fellowships are intended to assist PhD candidates who are enrolled in a university in Quebec in finishing their research thesis. The Bibliothèque et Archives nationaux du Québec (BAnQ) provides archive funds and heritage collections to doctorate students, who can also use them for research on the following topics: the history of books, print, and publishing in Quebec; the sociology and history of reading in Quebec; or the indigenous documentary heritage of Quebec.
Eligibility criteria for Research Support Program - Doctoral Fellowship:
At the time of the entry into force of his scholarship, the recipient must have obtained his master's degree, be registered full-time in a doctoral study program in a Quebec university, plan to continue his university activities for two consecutive semesters, and begin or continue the project for which the scholarship was obtained. It conducts research on a component or an aspect of BAnQ's archival holdings and heritage collections, or on one of the following subjects: the history of books, printed matter, and publishing in Québec; the history and sociology of reading in Quebec; Quebec's Aboriginal documentary heritage. - Canadian citizen or permanent resident within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (SC 2001, c. 27);
- A resident of Quebec within the meaning of the Health Insurance Act (CQLR, c. A-29);
- Domiciled in Quebec for at least one year.
