The University of New Mexico's Inclusive Excellence Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars Program (IEPVSP) offers assistance for up to three postdoctoral fellows, research associates, or visiting scholar roles aimed at promoting diversity and equal opportunity at the Albuquerque central campus.

Eligibility Criteria for the Faculty Forward Post Doctoral and Visiting Scholars Program at University of New Mexico 2027:

Applicants must:

  • Hold a PhD (or equivalent terminal degree).
  • Be nominated by a UNM central campus tenure-granting academic unit.
  • Be selected for a 12-month appointment as a postdoctoral fellow, research associate, or visiting scholar.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must submit an online application along with the following documents:
    • Most recent CV.
    • Planned scholarly activities during the IE postdoc/visiting scholar appointment.
    • The letter of interest must be addressed to the department chair. 
    • The letter of application to a recent faculty search may be submitted in place of a letter of interest.
    • Applicants' statement explaining their past, current, and potential contributions to justice, equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion (JEADI) through research, teaching, and/or service.
    • Three letters of reference.

Value of the Faculty Forward Post Doctoral and Visiting Scholars Program at University of New Mexico 2027:

  • DiCE’s contribution to salary: $50,000 (for 12‑month appointment) (units supplement to meet minimum requirements).
  • One‑time $2,000 research allocation (department may supplement).
