Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship 2026

The Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (DUPRF) are intended to build research and innovation capability and excellence and create impact in strategic priority research strengths at Deakin University.

Eligibility Criteria for Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship:

Applicants must:

• Have been awarded a PhD on or after 1 January 2023, or
• Have a PhD award date adjusted for allowable career interruptions equivalent to 1 January 2023 eligibility.
• Meet eligibility requirements outlined in the DUPRF Guidelines.
• Obtain a supervisor support statement from a Deakin University supervisor confirming project hosting.
• Align their research with a relevant Deakin faculty, school, institute, or centre.
• Provide evidence of PhD completion or expected completion by 31 December 2026 (or official testamur if already awarded).
• Provide documentation for any career interruptions (if applicable).

Value of the Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship:

• Up to 3 years of salary support (Level A Step 6 up to Level B classification, depending on experience).
  
• A one-off research support grant of AUD $15,000 for eligible direct research costs (e.g., consumables, equipment, travel where permitted).

• The candidates are required to obtain a supervisor support statement confirming their agreement to host the fellowship.
