- Candidates are required to have first or upper second class UK Honours degree.
- Applicants must hold an equally strong Masters degree in a subject relevant to Applied Linguistics.
- Applicants who have completed a course in research methods and who have experience in conducting empirical research are preferred.
- Before proceeding with the application process, applicants are suggested to discuss potential research projects with the Programme Director, Professor Tess Fitzpatrick.
- International applicants have to self-fund the difference amount between home and overseas fees.

- The Ph.D. candidature is for a total of 6years.
