Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarship (VCPS) at RMIT University 2025

The Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarships (VCPS) funded by RMIT University are awarded based on academic excellence and research potential to local and international candidates undertaking a research doctoral degree.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must hold or complete a Master by Research, a Master by Coursework with a significant research component, first-class Honours, or equivalent qualifications.
• Exception may be granted for candidates with previous publications or significant research experience.
• The candidate must be an Australian, New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, or international candidate commencing an RMIT PhD program from January 1, 2025.
• Candidate must have applied for a full-time PhD program at RMIT.

• Applicants must follow the scholarship application process, including evidence of contact with the proposed supervisor.
• Completion of the VCPS Expression of Interest form is required.

Value of the scholarship:

• Stipend of AUD 47,821 per annum pro rata (full-time study)
• Research support allowance of AUD 5,000 per annum
• International candidates receive an RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship
• Local candidates are provided with an RTP Fee Offset scholarship
• Relocation allowance up to AUD 1,540
• Paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave
• Cost coverage for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international candidates
