Eligibility for PhD in 4-Dimensional Global Geodynamic Modelling of Plate-mantle Interactions During Supercontinent Cycles 2020:
- English language IELTS level of 6.5 for each band: Speaking, Reading, Listening, Writing and an overall band of 6.5
- Applicants must have either 1st class Honours (or equivalent qualification with research experience) or an MSc in the Earth sciences (or another relevant field).
- Previous experience in geodynamic modeling (specifically mantle dynamics) will be highly regarded.
Value of PhD in 4-Dimensional Global Geodynamic Modelling of Plate-mantle Interactions During Supercontinent Cycles 2020:
- The total value of the annual scholarships (stipend and fees) is approx. AUD 60,000 - AUD 70,000 p.a.
- Curtin PhD stipends are valued at AUD 28,092 p.a. for up to a maximum of 3.5 years.
- Successful applicants will receive a 100% fee offset.
This project aims to develop 4D global geodynamic models utilizing the Pawsey Supercomputer Centre located in Perth, Australia, and in collaboration with researchers around the world. It aims to model the interactions between plate tectonics and mantle dynamics during supercontinent cycles.
