Paul Bendat Memorial Indigenous Scholarship in Law at the University of Western Australia 2026

Introduction: 

The Paul Bendat Memorial Indigenous Scholarship in Law is a coursework scholarship offered by the University of Western Australia (UWA). Funded by the Bendat Family Foundation, the scholarship aims to encourage and support high-achieving Indigenous Australian students experiencing financial hardship to pursue or continue a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at the University. 

Eligibility requirements for the Paul Bendat Memorial Indigenous Scholarship in Law at the University of Western Australia:

• Applicants must be a domestic student (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder, or New Zealand citizen).
• Applicants must be an Australian Indigenous person (of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as such, and be accepted by their community).
• Be experiencing financial hardship, demonstrated through a means-tested Commonwealth income support payment or a financial hardship statement.

Value of the Scholarship:

A full-time student will be awarded AUD 15,000.
