Circular Water HDR Scholarship at Deakin University 2024

A PhD scholarship is available to conduct research on the topic "Circular Water – Sensor Systems for Tracing Rainfall and Groundwater for Sustainable Water Management." This research will focus on the circular water cycle, from rainfall and its infiltration through soil and rock to underground spaces and aquifers, which serve as a critical water resource during dry periods.

Eligibility criteria:

• Applicant must be a domestic or international candidate. "Domestic" includes candidates with Australian Citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency or New Zealand Citizenship.
• Applicant must meet Deakin's PhD entry requirements.
• Applicant must be enrolled full-time and hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent standard Master's degree with a substantial research component.
• Applicant must have educational training and experience that is relevant to the research program (e.g: water, environmental or geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, hydrology, meteorology, physical sciences, etc.)

Benefits:

• Stipend of $34,400 per annum
• Relocation allowance of $500-1500 (for single to family) for students moving from interstate
• Tuition fees are offset for the duration of 4 years. Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa (only for international students)
