Wellington Historical and Early Settlers Association James E. Worsfold Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 

This scholarship was established by the Wellington Historical and Early Settlers’ Association in memory of Rt Reverend James E Worsfold to encourage research into the early history of the Wellington region. It supports students enrolling in a BA (Hons), MA, or PhD in New Zealand history, including studies focused on Wellington.

Eligibility Criteria for Wellington Historical and Early Settlers Association James E. Worsfold Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 2026:

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled or intending to enroll in a BA (Honours), MA, or PhD degree at Victoria University of Wellington.
• Be studying a topic related to New Zealand history that includes the Wellington region.
• Preference is given to research focusing on 19th‑century history.

NZD 5,000 (paid in two equal installments).
