The Herbert Sutcliffe Scholarship, established in 1989 through an endowment from the Wellington Branch of the Herbert Sutcliffe Schools of Radiant Living, supports students in the Humanities. Up to half of the annual funds may assist students facing financial hardship or those from underrepresented groups at the University.

Eligibility Criteria for Herbert Sutcliffe Hardship Scholarships at Victoria University of Wellington 2026:

Applicants must:

Be currently enrolled full-time at Victoria University of Wellington.
Be an undergraduate student studying one of the following programs:
- BA (Bachelor of Arts)
- BEd (Bachelor of Education)
- BMus (Bachelor of Music)
- BA (Honours)
Be experiencing financial hardship.
