Shannon L. Hamm Scholarship

The Shannon L. Hamm Memorial Gender & Women Studies Scholarship was established by Dr. Amir Hussein in memory of his wife Shannon L. Hamm, who believed strongly in furthering and supporting a feminist education.

Eligibility Criteria for Shannon L. Hamm Memorial Gender & Women’s Studies Scholarship:

Applicants must:

• Be majoring in Gender and Women’s Studies.
• Be a senior, or preferably a junior, during the current academic year.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Submit a 500–700 word essay to the Gender and Women’s Studies Department Office describing how majoring in Gender and Women’s Studies has impacted their worldview and life.

Value of the Shannon L. Hamm Memorial Gender & Women’s Studies Scholarship:

The amount awarded for this scholarship varies between $400 and $500.
