Eligibility Criteria for Vice-Chancellor’s International Postgraduate Scholarships:
- Applicants must be international students who are not citizens, permanent residents, or resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia (except eligible Australian students paying international fees while residing outside New Zealand).
- Applicants must have received admission into an eligible postgraduate programme at the University of Otago.
- Applicants must normally have achieved an academic standard equivalent to at least a New Zealand B+ average.
- Applicants must be required to pay international tuition fees.
- Applicants must intend to commence full-time study in an eligible programme.
- Applicants must enroll in an eligible postgraduate programme within the Business, Humanities, Sciences, or Health Sciences divisions.
- Applicants must not be sponsored by their home government or the New Zealand Government.
Value of Vice-Chancellor’s International Postgraduate Scholarships:
Recipients receive a NZ$10,000 tuition fee scholarship for one year of full-time postgraduate study.
Application Process:
No separate scholarship application is required. Eligible students are automatically assessed when they apply for an eligible postgraduate programme. Successful applicants will be notified of the scholarship in their Offer of Place.
