Robinson Research Institute PhD: Novel magneto-thermal catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation at Victoria University of Wellington
This PhD project focuses on developing novel magneto-thermal core-shell catalysts for efficient CO₂ hydrogenation, aiming to convert carbon dioxide into useful small organic molecules like methane or methanol while reducing energy consumption. The student will synthesise and characterise these catalysts, test them in a benchtop reactor under continuous flow, and collaborate with researchers at Victoria University of Wellington, the University of Auckland, GNS Science, and the MacDiarmid Institute.
Eligibility Criteria of Robinson Research Institute PhD: Novel magneto-thermal catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation:
- Applicants must hold an MSc/MEng or a 1st Class Honours (4-year) degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Previous lab experience in materials synthesis or gas-phase catalysis is advantageous, and candidates must meet Victoria University of Wellington’s PhD admission requirements.
Application Process:
- To apply, submit your CV and academic record.
