Destination Australia Scholarship at Southern Cross University 2026

Introduction: 

The Destination Australia scholarship is designed to support students to undertake their university degree in regional Australia. Study at our regional campuses in Lismore, and enjoy the benefits of two of the most picturesque and affordable university towns in Australia.

Eligibility requirement for Destination Australia Scholarship at Southern Cross University:

• A first-time commencing student. Never studied at this level previously.
• Enrolled as a full-time student at Lismore, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours)
• Meet the Commonwealth of Australia definition of ‘new student to Southern Cross University.
• Recipients must maintain ongoing residency in a regional area as defined by Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Edition 3, reference period (March 2026 – December 2026) for the duration of each study period. This includes any placements during the same period. These must all be in a regional setting.
• Domestic students should be identifiable as coming from a low socio-economic background.

Value of the scholarship:

A AUD 15,000 award is available to support a full-time student

Application Process:

• Apply for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at Southern Cross University for the 2024 or 2025 intake.
• Submit your admission application, where scholarship eligibility and academic excellence will be automatically assessed by the SCU Admissions team.
• Selection will be chosen via computer-generated lottery system
• Meet all scholarship conditions, including maintaining the required GPA, attendance, and visa requirements.
