    Description:

    This PhD project will examine community co-design as a means of improving climate justice and community resilience in Melbourne. It will evaluate recent and ongoing co-design projects and may include the delivery of novel co-design methods with communities, depending on the availability and consent of community partners. The project will focus on heat as a priority risk for Melbourne.

    Eligibility for the Co-Designing Climate Justice Project:

    • Applicants for the Co-Designing Climate Justice Project must be Domestic applicants.
    • Candidates should meet the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning’s PhD minimum entry requirements.
    • Students must be enrolled in a graduate research degree within the Faculty of Architecture, Building, and Planning.

    Selection criteria:

    Eligible applicants will be assessed on academic merit. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to an interview.

    Benefits:

    • A stipend worth $34,400 (2023 rate) per year for a maximum of 3.5 years
    • Tuition fee remission through Research Training Program (RTP)

    Application: By August 31, 2023, an Expression of Interest (EOI) and a candidacy application for the Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture, Building, and Planning must be submitted.
