Eligibility:

Full-Time Graduate Enrollment:

• You must be a matriculated, full-time graduate student within the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences (CDS).
• This ensures that you are actively pursuing your graduate studies in the field of communicative disorders and speech-language pathology.

Minimum GPA Requirement:

• You are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 for all graduate coursework completed within the CDS program at the time of your application.
• This demonstrates your academic performance and commitment to your studies in the field.

Commitment to Speech-Language Pathology:

• You must show a clear commitment to the field of speech-language pathology.

This can be demonstrated through:

Relevant Volunteer or Work Experience:

• Experience working or volunteering at an agency or clinic that serves individuals with communicative disorders, such as speech or language impairments, helps establish your dedication and hands-on experience in the field.

Involvement with Professional Organizations:

• Participation in the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA) at San Jose State University (SJSU), or any other professional organizations dedicated to speech-language pathologies, further shows your active involvement in advancing your knowledge and support for the profession.

Award Value:

• The scholarship offers a monetary award of $250.00 to support your academic journey.
