The School for Contacts in Nanosystems

Braunschweig, Germany

established Established :

One of the major problems in the use of nanotechnology is the connection of nanostructures with the macroscopic world. Topic of the PhD programme \"Contacts in Nanosystems: Interactions, Control and Quantum Dynamics\" is therefore the control of the contact to nanosystems. The contact is understood here not only as an electrical contact between two conductors, but in the more general sense as the coupling and interaction between the two systems, which can be of different dimension. Coupling effects can be purely electrical in nature and be caused by the Coulomb interaction, but can also involve the spin of the charge carriers, or also include the coupling to plasmonic excitations.
