The David Eade Undergraduate Piano Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
This scholarship supports the education and training of undergraduate classical piano students at the New Zealand School of Music, Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. It was established in 2023 through a bequest from David Philps Eade to assist aspiring classical pianists.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The scholarship is open to classical piano students intending to enrol at Te Kōkī, New Zealand School of Music.
- Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
Selection Criteria:
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s current NCEA progress.
- Applicants will also be assessed on the performance submitted as part of the scholarship documentation.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 10,000.
Note:
- Recipients must write a thank-you letter to the donor’s family and are expected to perform in a concert honoring David P. Eade.
- The scholarship covers a stipend and other piano-related activities at the New Zealand School of Music, with a tenure of one year and the option to reapply.
