Infratec Scholarship for Māori, Pasifika, and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering at Victoria University of Wellington 2025
The scholarship supports Māori, Pasifika, and women students pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, with plans to focus on Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third and fourth years. It provides a NZD 6,000 annual stipend for three years and a paid summer placement with Infratec, aiming to encourage careers in the renewable energy sector.
Eligibility Criteria of Infratec Scholarship for Māori, Pasifika and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering:
- Applicants must be Aotearoa New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolled, or intending to enrol, in the first year of a full-time Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
- Applicants must belong to an equity group (Māori, Pasifika, or women) and plan to take courses related to Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third and fourth years.
Selection Criteria: Applicants will be selected on the basis of academic merit, motivation, future potential, and commitment to studying renewable energy and working in the field of renewable energy engineering.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 18,000 (divided into NZD 6,000 per year).
Note:
- Continuation of the scholarship and the third-year summer placement depends on maintaining a B+ average and choosing Renewable Energy Systems Engineering courses; exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances at the donor’s discretion.
- Recipients must write a thank-you letter to the donor and submit an end-of-year progress report each study year.
