A £1,000 non-repayable financial reward for students who have previously been in foster care, a shelter, or who are young adult caretakers, young refugees, or those who have been alienated from their biological parents for a period of time that exceeds 12 months. Please be aware that students who decide to live in housing owned by the university will also get a £500 bonus that will be applied to their rent.
Eligibility for Young Independent Student Bursary:
- Young adult caregivers, young refugees, and new and continuing home undergraduate students who have lived in foster care in the past or who are alienated from their parents are among the people in the foyer.
- The student needs to be fee-assessed as a full-time home student receiving a Student Finance Maintenance loan, under 25 at the beginning of your term, and paying fees of £9,250 annually
Please be aware that before starting classes at UEL, students must present documentation proving they have lived in foster care or in a home for the whole previous year. Students who are alienated from their biological or adoptive parent(s) must present proof of their current estrangement.
