York Performance Award at the University of York

The York Performance Award, funded through a generous endowment by Sir Ron and Lady Barbara Cooke, supports University of York students in showcasing their talents through drama and/or music performances at venues outside of York.

Eligibility Criteria of the York Performance Award:

1. Open to International (including EU) and UK students in the School of Arts and Creative Technologies. The lead applicant must be an undergraduate or postgraduate member of English and Related Literature or the School of Arts and Creative Technologies.
2. Projects must be ambitious, involving a proven team of at least four University of York students (performers, technicians, or producers) who have worked together before, with full costings and plans for funding usage provided.
3. Performances should occur before 1 July 2027, including at least one in York for funders to attend. Award and department/school must be credited in all publicity, and all promotional materials must be approved.

Application Process: 

1. Submit your completed application via email to act-admin-manager@york.ac.uk by Sunday, 7 June 2026. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for a Zoom interview.
2. Applicants will be informed of the outcome within six weeks of the deadline, and concise feedback on unsuccessful applications is available upon request.
