The Terence O'Brien Scholarship honours his 40+ years as a New Zealand diplomat and founding director of the New Zealand Centre for Strategic Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. It supports top Honours and Master's students in International Relations and Strategic Studies, focusing on international governance, multilateral diplomacy, or cooperation in political, economic, or security fields, helping prepare them for careers in professional diplomacy.
Eligibility Criteria of The Terence O'Brien Family Scholarship in International Relations or Strategic Studies:
- The scholarship is open to Honours or Master’s students of International Relations or Strategic Studies at Victoria University of Wellington.
- Both full-time and part-time students are eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in an Honours or Master’s programme in International Relations or Strategic Studies at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington.
- Both full-time and part-time enrolments are eligible during the tenure of the scholarship.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
