    Overview:

    The Scholarship is open to applicants commencing the first year of their undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice course, including Engineering combined degrees. It is open to both current and non-current school leavers.

    Eligibility for WJ & LM Sinclair Scholarship in Engineering UTS:

    • Citizenship/visa: Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa.
    • UAC Equity: Apply through UAC Equity Scholarship and demonstrate financial disadvantage and/or educational barriers such as:
      • Carer responsibilities
      • Regional/remote background
      • Language difficulties / non-English speaking background
      • Refugee background
      • Disability or long-term medical condition
      • Sole parent responsibilities
      • Indigenous Australian
      • Educational disruption or personal hardship
      • Course: Commencing first year of Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice, or a combined Engineering course at UTS.
    • Academic requirement:
      • ATAR 80+ (or equivalent), or
      • ATAR 69+ for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants, or offer via Jumbunna Pathways Program.
    • Application: Must submit the UTS Online Scholarships Application Form.
    • Interview: Must be available for an in-person interview.

    Selection process:

    • Applicants may be given preference who can demonstrate one or more of the following (in priority order):
      • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
      • Financial Hardship; and/or
      • Be female Identifying
    • Academic merit in the qualification as the basis of admission. 
    • As demonstrated in the scholarship application and interview:
      • Motivation to succeed in their undergraduate Engineering course.
      • Initiative in extra-curricular and non-academic activities.
