Eligibility for Widener University UG Merit Scholarship:
First-year merit scholarships are awarded to students based on their high school academic standing and the quality of their high school curriculum. Transfer students' total college grade point average (from all colleges attended) determines their eligibility for merit awards. Members of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society are qualified for further scholarships.
Maintaining the Scholarship:
Students must continue to progress toward their program of study at a rate that would guarantee graduation in a reasonable amount of time, both qualitatively (grades) and quantitatively (credit hours), while retaining full-time, undergraduate day status, to be eligible for a merit scholarship.
Value of the scholarship:
First-year merit scholarships have a four-year maximum of $100,000. The award is solely available for tuition costs, has an eight-semester restriction, and is evaluated every year. The starting annual merit award amount for transfer candidates is $20,000.
Application Process:
There is no need for a separate application, incoming students are automatically considered for academic scholarships.
