University of Dar Es Salaam LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships, 2018

The University of Dar Es Salaam is offering scholarships to pursue LLM and Ph.D. programs.

Eligibility for LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships:

• The candidates applying for University of Dar Es Salaam LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships, 2018 should be nationals of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
• The applicants for the LLM program should have a bachelor's degree in law (LLB) and a GPA of at least 3.0 or its equivalent from a recognized higher learning institution.
• The candidates applying for the Ph.D. program should have an LLM degree from a recognized institution.

Documents required:

• The applicants for University of Dar Es Salaam LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships, 2018 should submit signed curriculum vitae with evidence of legal and other relevant education, training and practical experience.
• The candidates should submit a motivation letter, a passport picture, and a research proposal 1,500 words for LLM and 3,000 words for Ph.D.
• The applicants are expected to submit a release letter from their employer if they are employed.
• The candidates should submit three recommendation letters, certified copies of all certificates such as birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and academic transcripts.
• The Ph.D. candidates should submit an electronic copy of their LLM dissertation.

Value of the LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships:

• The recipients of University of Dar Es Salaam LLM and Ph.D. Scholarships, 2018 get a stipend of 2,400 EUR for Tanzanians and of 3,000 EUR for non-Tanzanians.
• The scholarship also covers health insurance, a once-off research grant of 460 EUR for LLM and 920 EUR for Ph.D., and a housing allowance of 30 EUR per month.
