Eligibility Criteria for the Tom and Maureen Fairlie Scholarship at University of Edinburgh:

Applicants must:

  • Have been accepted onto a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programme.
  • Be enrolled within the Moray House School of Education and Sport.
  • Intend to teach or further develop teaching in mathematics or science-based subjects (including Design and Technology) in Scottish secondary schools; or
  • Intend to undertake research that contributes to the development or effective teaching of the Scottish secondary school curriculum in mathematics or science-based subjects.

Value of the Tom and Maureen Fairlie Scholarship at University of Edinburgh:

The scholarship provides £1,500 per annum toward maintenance costs. The award is tenable for the duration of the postgraduate programme, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
