Overview:
The Faculty Women in Engineering and IT Scholarship supports women entering Engineering or IT at UTS, a non-traditional area of study. It provides financial assistance for the first year of study in an eligible Engineering or IT degree.
Eligibility for The FEIT Women in Engineering and IT Scholarship UTS:
- Identify as female.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold an Australian Permanent Resident or Permanent Humanitarian visa.
- Be a current or non-current school leaver with an ATAR of 85+ (adjustment points excluded); applicants with an ATAR 75–85 may be considered based on suitability.
- Be commencing first-year study in an undergraduate degree (including double degrees) in the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
- Candidates must be available for an interview (online or in person).
- Candidates must complete all required steps in the selection process, including the pre-offer information questionnaire.
- Applicants demonstrating preferential criteria (e.g., financial or educational disadvantage) will be assessed via the UAC Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme.
Selection Process:
- Academic merit.
- As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:
- Interest in Engineering or IT and motivation to succeed in the UTS course;
- Initiative in extra-curricular and non-academic activities;
- Motivation for women in engineering and IT;
- Other suitability criteria for the scholarship program identified by the Selection Committee, including but not limited to commitment, professionalism and engagement.
- Preference may be given to students who can demonstrate the below criteria, and financial disadvantage and/or other educational disadvantages (through the UAC Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme application)
