The Charles Medal in Anatomy at University College Cork 2026

Introduction:

The Charles Medal in Anatomy is an annual award at University College Cork (UCC) established through a donation by Dr. John James Charles, former Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Queen's College, Cork.

Eligibility criteria for the The Charles Medal in Anatomy at University College Cork:

• The applicants must be a current first-year medical student at UCC.
• The applicants must rank among the top 10% of the class in anatomy, based on:
  • The anatomy component of the formal written examinations in FM1010 and FM1020.
  • The anatomy component of the continuous assessment in FM1030 and FM1040.
• The applicants must be eligible to sit the First University Anatomy Prize Examination.

Application Process:

• No separate application is required. Eligible students are selected based on their anatomy examination results and invited to sit the First University Anatomy Prize Examination.

Value of the Scholarship:

• A medal is awarded as a prize to support a full-time student.
